We visited Tropea in the first half of April.
We visited Tropea in the first half of April. The weather was pleasant and the city wasn´t crowded. Many of the restaurants and bars were still closed before the real season start but there were still plenty of options. Parking wasn´t very easy (and I expect to get some fines in the upcoming weeks).

I was there out of season.
I was there out of season. Many restaurants in Tropea were shut but enough. More opened at the weekend.
Public transport seems limited to the trains. Tropes is on a branch line and at best the trains are every 2 hours. There are lots of beaches to explore.
Access to the hills. Would require some research.

Tropea was an awesome little town!! Very quaint, plenty of restaurants, gellato stores and little shops! It has the perfect mix of stores, food, and outdoor activities. I WISH I had planned a longer stay, would go back here in a heartbeat!

The historic town is mostly pedestrianised or traffic restricted, and although heavily populated by tourists it is big enough not to be overwhelmed (at least that was the case in September). There is a lot of good historic architecture from a variety of periods, and many good restaurants. The beaches are not large, but are within walking distance of the town centre, but you need to be prepared for climbing lots of steps to get to them from the town.

It's a small town with a lot of ancient history.
It's a small town with a lot of ancient history. I highly recommend taking the time to read up on the history of Tropea - how it was founded, how old it is and many other awesome historical facts about it.
Tropea is not just a beach or resort vacation - I am always excited about the crooked streets, the food, the scenic views and the amazing vibe of the place and the people.
Makes me want to come here again and again!
One last tip - sunscreen, hiking shoes and a basic Italian vocabulary will make your visit perfect )
The staff were friendly and very helpful. Arranged transport to and from the train station. My room had a gorgeous view of the coast, sea and on the clear days I could see Stromboli and the Aeolian Islands.
Tropea is a quaint and lovely town. Ricardo and Mimi are wonderful hosts. She recommended a wonderful cooking class for me that was held at a hill top farm in an outdoor kitchen. It was fantastic, authentic Calabrian food.
My stay needed to be extended and they were able to arrange it so they could accommodate me. I am grateful to them.
This apartment was excellent - high quality furnishings, thoughtful design and very attractive. It was also spacious with a large and well furnished terrace which was perfect for us and our large dog. The location is terrific, just outside the centro storico with a secured paid parking garage less than 100 metres away. We have been doing a road trip in Southern Italy with our car and dog staying in similarly priced accommodation and S’O Suites was the undoubted winner in quality of accommodation.
We highly recommend this hotel. It is new but very close to the old city center. It has parking under the hotel. It sits back from the street so it’s very quiet. There is a small restaurant literally at the front door. Room is modern and very clean. The beds are very comfortable. Serena is so nice and helpful. Breakfast was perfect with everything you could want. When you are visiting Tropea, this is the hotel where you want to stay. It was great!
We travel often in Italy, but the host is the best host of our trips She welcomed us with a warm heart and sincerely moved us to the parking lot and was with her during our stay so we had beautiful and perfect Tropea days. If you do, she will do her best to recognize and reply. The apartment is a great place. Beautiful views, convenient facilities, and central location. The days spent here are the best of my life.
Quaint and beautiful surroundings didn’t make it feel like a traditional hotel at all. This is personified by the breakfast service which is stunning. The staff were so accommodating and kind in all aspects.
It’s a fantastically quiet, clean and manicured hotel and ticks every box whoever you are and whatever you intend to do in this region of Italy.
I would recommend this to anyone. Thank you so much.
Enjoyed a great stay at NoOne whilst in Tropea. The accommodation has a great central location and is only a short walk from the station.
The accommodation is comfortable and spotlessly clean. The views from the roof terrace whilst eating breakfast are amazing and this can also be accessed throughout the day. A great spot to enjoy a book!
Would highly recommend.
Grazie mille Mariano!
We absolutely loved our stay at this hotel! Graziella our host at the hotel was amazing! She was super friendly, helpful, and made sure that our stay was perfect! We loved the location, in the heart of everything. Tropea was probably our favourite destination in our month long vacation to Italy. We wouldn't hesitate to stay here again!!
It can be difficult to find modern acommodation in southern Italy but this one ticked all the boxes....smart TVs, mood lighting, minimalist style, big sliding glass doors, strong air conditioning. 10min walk to the center with free parking directly outside. The host was so friendly and provided gifts.
The property is well located, at a walking distance from the city center, and just a few steps away from a beautiful small beach out of the crowds.
Claudio was very friendly and helpful providing us with all of the information to get the best out of Tropea. Private parking is a plus.
This is probably the best family hotel we have ever been! Highly recommended!! The staff was absolutely lovely and helpful. The place is located very centrally. The rooms are very big, comfortable and clean. Everything works perfect. Home cakes for breakfast. Lovely 100%!!
We got ABSOLUTELY and greatly surprised by this place, impecable served by Attilio and his mother Eugenia.. what an amazing and lovely people.. Super clean, super organized and beautifully decorated. They gave us the best time in Italy. Can’t wait to come back!
Perfect location for exploring Tropea and then getting away from the crowds for an afternoon on the beach. Very friendly, helpful staff, great location for swimming and walking a gorgeous stretch of beach.
Antonio’s friendliness & helpfulness made us feel very welcome. The room was very comfortable and the shower was the biggest & best so far in Italy with plenty of hot water.
Location is perfect, was able to get free parking in front of hotel.
Views are second to none. Perfection.
Breakfast is the best we had on our many trips to Italy. Superb.
The position and view is what makes this hotel. The staff are amazing and could not be more helpful. It is a small boutique hotel and is the perfect stay while in Tropea.
Comfortable and secure B+B a short walk from Tropea's beautiful historic centre. Good sized room and friendly staff. Street parking available close by.
